Celebrate Recovery is a Christ centered recovery program that takes us step by step through the bible to help us recover from our hurts, habits, and hang-ups. This program has eight principles that were derived from the beatitudes that Jesus gave us. The eight principles also go hand in hand with the secular 12 Steps, but Jesus Christ is our one and only Higher Power. This program is for everyone, not just chemical dependent individuals. We all need recovery, “For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God” Romans 3:23. The hurts, habit’s, and hang-ups in our lives hurt our fellowship with God and therefore cause insanity. Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. Often we hit rock bottom before we decide to do something about our sin. As a Christ follower we have power over sin through Christ, we just have to be willing to give up our sin. We do this by taking one day at a time, searching for God’s will for our lives in a step-by-step process.
Celebrate Recovery is a safe place where you can take off your mask and fellowship and grow with real people who love God.

Realize I’m not God; I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable. (Step 1) “Happy are those who know that they are spiritually poor.”
Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him and that He has the power to help me recover. (Step 2) “Happy are those how mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control. (Step 3) “Happy are the meek.”
Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust. (Steps 4 and 5) “Happy are the pure in heart.”
Voluntarily submit to any and all changes God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects. (Steps 6 and 7) “Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires”
Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others when possible, except when to do so would harm them or others. (Steps 8 and 9)
1. Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Limit your sharing to three to five minutes.
2. There will be NO cross talk. Cross talk is when two individuals engage in conversation, excluding all others. Each person is free to express his or her feelings without interruptions.
3. We are here to support one another, not “fix” one another.
4. Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group. The only exception is when someone threatens to injure themselves or others.
5. Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group.
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
